Complaint Guidelines

GUIDELINES FOR MAKING A COMPLAINT

The Saskatchewan Dietitians Association must investigate all complaints filed with the Registrar regarding the conduct or the actions of a dietitian. Responding to complaints is one of the ways that the Saskatchewan Dietitians Association fulfills its mandate of protecting the public. A complaint must be filed in writing or any other recorded format (e.g. audiotape or videotape). If you need assistance in making a complaint or require information about the complaints process, please call the Registrar at the Saskatchewan Dietitians Association.

A Panel of the Professional Conduct Committee will review every complaint filed with the Saskatchewan Dietitians Association. A copy of the complaint will be given to the member you are complaining about. While confidentiality is maintained with regards to complaints, information gathered during the investigation may be provided to the member or the member’s representative for the purpose of responding to the Association’s proceedings. If the complainant or the member is not satisfied with the decision, he/she may request a review of the Panel’s decision by the Saskatchewan Dietitians Association Board. If this occurs, the Professional Conduct Committee must provide the Board with all the information that was reviewed by the Panel. The Board will disclose this documentation to both parties.
