The Saskatchewan College of Dietitians (SCD) establishes the education and training requirements that are required for entry into the profession of dietetics in Saskatchewan. Registration with the College assures the public and employers that an individual has met the academic and practical training standards.
The application fee for registrants of other Canadian dietetic regulatory bodies and graduates of Canadian accredited programs is $105. The application fee for those who require a substantial equivalence assessment to determine registration eligibility is $400. Annual licensing fees (April 1-March 31) are $370. If you register after October 1, the licensing fee is $185. If you resign from SCD prior to October 1, you are eligible for a half of your licensing fee.
SCD has three categories of licensure:
1. Full Practicing
2. Restricted (for new graduates waiting to write the CDRE)
3. Temporary (for RDs fully licensed in another Canadian dietetic regulatory body requiring short term licensure)
SCD also has an Honorary Lifetime Membership classification for dietitians who have retired. It is not a licence to practice, but a way of staying connected to the dietetics profession in Saskatchewan.
SCD has an online application form and payment process which can be accessed here.
