All applicants to SCD must meet the same registration requirements to be issued a licence to practice as a Dietitian in Saskatchewan. If your academic and practical training were not done through an approved dietetic program in Canada, you will require an assessment to evaluate the substantial equivalency of your dietetic education. Read more about the process in our Substantial Equivalence Assessment Guide. You will be provided with a written copy of your assessment that will include individualized recommendations specific to you.
Before proceeding with the substantial equivalence assessment, review the Canadian Dietetic Practice Orientation and Self-Assessment Tool website. It will give you a general overview of dietetic practice in Canada and help you understand the entry to practice competencies (ICDEP v.3) to which you will be assessed.
